What is accessible? Pragmatic choices in developing an accessible professional history

Professor Jois Stansfield will deliver a presentation at Manchester Metropolitan University which will describe a study to develop an accessible history of the speech and language therapy profession.

Using a range of methods to access material back to the 1800s, Professor Stansfield will look at the processes of data access and selection, documentary analysis and the organisation of findings into a timeline, with searchable links and annotated bibliography, to be hosted on the Royal Collage of Speech and Language Therapists' website.

She will also discuss how history is only ever an interpretation and thus subjective, sometimes inaccurate and definitely incomplete, depending on the interests of the people doing the work.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 11 February, 2015, 4.30pm. For booking details please click here.
