UCLan will welcome the world's leading expert in Implementation Science to Preston in May.
Professor Jeremy Grimshaw from the University of Ottawa, Canada, has made a major contribution to the evidence base on the effectiveness of different strategies for implementing evidence into practice during his long career.
He has been involved in over 30 cluster randomised trials and two quasi-experimental studies of knowledge transfer interventions, working across diverse clinical problems in primary and secondary care settings across the world.
These trials have been published in a variety of journals including the BMJ, Lancet and JAMA. He has over 450 publications in peer-reviewed journals - with over 200 in the last five years.
During his visit, Professor Grimshaw will conduct Masterclasses in implementation science and knowledge transfer as well as meeting more informally with staff at UCLan and in our partner Trusts.
He will stimulate learning and debate about the best ways to introduce interventions as part of research studies, as well as considering the most effective ways of encouraging implementation of research findings.
The event takes place on Tuesday, 5 May. For more information please email Dr Lois Thomas.
