PhD studentship opportunities



Applications are invited for four full-time PhD (via MPhil) studentships.

This is an exciting opportunity for a potential PhD student to develop their own research proposal focused on Allied Health roles or services.

The studentships are tenable for up to 3 years full-time (subject to satisfactory progress) and will cover the cost of tuition fees at UK rates plus an annual maintenance stipend of £14,057 per year (2015/16 rate).

It is expected the successful applicants will commence 1st April. International applicants may apply, but will be required to pay the difference between the UK and international tuition fee rate.

Please note you will only be permitted a very limited number of hours additional paid employment.

EVENT: 'Leadership at times of change – what does it mean for you?



The next North West AHP Network event 'Leadership at times of change – what does it mean for you?' will take place on Wednesday, 20th April, 12pm – 4.30pm, at Haydock Park Racecourse, Newton-le-Willows.

This half-day conference will focus on the leadership skills that AHPs at all levels need at a time of significant changes in health and care, and how these can be supported and developed.

Confirmed speakers at the event include Dr Joanne Fillingham, Clinical Fellow to the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer at NHS England.

Postgraduate study opportunities

The next round of Higher Education England/NIHR postgraduate studentships at the University of Manchester for AHPs and nurses has now been confirmed.

These studentships allow practitioners to study full or part-time towards a Masters degree whilst retaining full salary (with back fill).

The application deadline is 11th April, with interview dates on 6th, 10th and 17th May.
